You can cast further but it’s also easier for flipping and shorter stuff too. No flipping a bail or anything, and your thumb is right on the line so you know what’s happening with any small loops on your reel without having to look at it. It’s a super easy fluid motion to repetitively retrieve and cast again. But when you get the groove going with a baitcaster with the right lure, you’ll get it. Crankbaits work better on it, heavy jigs and worms, but with smaller tackle, like 1/4 ounce jig or less I like the spin situation. If I had to pick one I’d probably pick the spin though.
